OUR WORK
Sage Run Golf Club at Island Resort & Casino
Harris, Michigan
Sage Run uses a drumlin, a long sloping ridge formed by glacial movement, which climbs 100 feet in some areas, as the main feature of the golf course. Working with Albanese & Lutzke, the goal of the design was to have the drumlin come into play several times throughout the round and in different directions. The course plays through forests and open meadows with rugged features to match the overall feel of the property. Sage Run opened for play in 2018.
Amber Hills Golf & Resort - Hillside Course
Yen Dung, Bac Giang, Vietnam
Nestled in the majestic Nham Bien mountains, about 50km north of Hanoi, Garrett worked with Albanese & Lutzke on their first project in Vietnam. With large lakes, vast elevation changes and beautiful views, the course uses the unique terrain to create a wide variety of risk/reward golf holes. The Hillside Course opened for play in 2018.
Osiris Country Club
Walden, New York
Wasson Golf Design was hired by Osiris to re-establish three holes lost from the original routing of the Golden Age course. Working with old aerial photographs, classic features were used as strategic elements to bring back the charm of the old course.
Francis Byrne Golf Course
West Orange, New Jersey
Garrett and Stephen Kay completed a Master Plan of the Essex County owned golf course originally designed by Charles Banks. We studied Charles Banks’ original plans and old aerial photographs of the course, which includes many of the template holes that Banks often used. Construction of the full Master Plan was completed in 2023. It included rebuilding and adjusting the contours on all the greens, rebuilding and adding tees and a full bunker renovation, which included adding new bunkers that were on Banks’ original drawing.
Grand Harbor Golf & Beach Club – River Course
Vero Beach, Florida
Working with CR Lutzke Golf, the River Course, originally designed by Joe Lee, was completely renovated in the Summer of 2022. The greens were expanded and redesigned, while the bunkers were reshaped and shifted to challenge today’s golfers. A new irrigation system was installed and the entire course was regrassed. Garrett spent 8 weeks on site during construction.
Grosse Ile Golf & Country Club
Grosse Ile, Michigan
Following a historic review of the course, which included studying the original Donald Ross drawings, Garrett, working with Albanese & Lutzke, created a Master Plan to restore this classic course to its original form. A bunker renovation, in accordance with the Master Plan, was completed in 2022.
Gulf Stream Golf Club
Gulf Stream, Florida
In 2021, Gulf Stream brought in CR Lutzke Golf to complete a Master Plan of the course that Lutzke renovated with Pete Dye in 2012. Garrett worked with Lutzke on the Master Plan that preserved Pete Dye’s vision for the course while focusing on the course’s playability, infrastructure and maintenance. Following the completion of the Master Plan, select projects have been completed each year, including a renovation of the 8th green, a complete bunker renovation, regrassing and reducing maintained turf.
